After a year apart due to COVID, Light Duluth Teal returned with an uplifting night.

This dinner event, hosted by the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance, brings together survivors, caregivers, medical professionals and more from around the region.

It's a time to celebrate the successes of researchers who are working on an early detection test and better treatments. And it's about honoring women who've survived the disease, along with remembering those who are no longer with us.

One of the speakers was Kelly Klein, a kindergarten teacher who's battling a terminal version of the cancer. But she's staying motivated and has pledged to live every moment in her time left.

The group raised around $50,000 during the event at the DECC.

Landmarks around Duluth including the Holiday Inn and Enger Tower shone teal in honor of ovarian cancer awareness.
