The Hillside Neighborhood welcomed local vendors and community members at its brand new market Friday.

The Hillside Makers Market was created to focus on local artists, their hand-made goods, and the surrounding neighborhood.

The vendors selected for the market do not have a retail space of their own and can keep 100 percent of their profits.

Co-Founder Cara Overland, enjoys everything the market has to offer to the community.

"We're just so excited to bring this to the hillside community," Overland said. "There isn't anything really like this in this area, and we just love our beloved hillside."

The market will continue on Saturday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will then operate one weekend a month.
