Signs of smiling faces, families camping together, and delectable smells coming from the various food trucks in downtown Grand Marais were some of the highlights Saturday in Cook County.  It was proof positive that we are in much happier times than the summer of 2020 when the pandemic was in full force shutting down most activities here and across the world.

From the live music on the outdoor patio of Birch Terrace, to the shoppers crowding the downtown Cook County Market, extending east of town to the Hovland Arts Fest, plenty of activities can be found around Cook County this weekend, including the 4th of July parade in Tofte on Sunday at 12:00pm and fireworks over the Grand Marais Harbor at 10pm Sunday.

Featuring local artisans and vendors and musical performances from local musicians, lovers of arts and crafts and good food gathered at the annual Hovland Arts Festival on Saturday.  The festival continues beginning at 10am on Sunday.
