Influenza activity in Minnesota and across the U.S. remains lower than usual for this time of year, according to the Minnesota Department of Health's latest report released Thursday.

According to the report, Minnesota had two flu-related hospitalizations in the past week, moving the total number of flu-related hospitalizations in the state to 19, thus far this season.

No flu-related deaths have been reported in the state, so far.

Additionally, no new influenza outbreaks have been reported in long-term care facilities in the past few weeks, and only two have been reported so far. No school outbreaks were reported, either, with only three total reports, so far.

While Minnesota and the U.S. are in very good shape regarding the spread of influenza currently, MDH's report notes that activity may increase in the coming months and all residents are still urged to get a flu vaccine if they haven't already.
