The YMCA is very thankful after a generous donor helped out at their annual Christmas tree sale.

The buyer spent thousands of dollars to buy the remaining Christmas trees at the Ridgedale YMCA in Minnetonka last weekend.

"It was kind of like an angel drove into our parking lot," Mark Ihrke with the YMCA said. "It was wonderful."

At the end of the fundraiser 40 trees still remained on the lot. An anonymous donor bought the trees for $2,500.

"Said how much do you need for me to buy the rest of the trees and I told him the amount," Ihrke said. "He wrote out the check and said please get these out in the community to those that could use them."

The trees were donated to the Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners, along with the YMCA Minnetonka Heights Neighborhood Center.
