Farmer Doug Hoffbauer and his wife Lois were busy making new gnomes and wreaths on Monday morning at the Hoffbauer Tree Farm. "The greenery has exploded more than the trees. By Friday afternoon, we had sold as many wreaths as we did the entire last year," he said.

He told us it may have to do with fewer fundraisers this year, with fewer groups selling the wreaths like usual.

And so many are getting decked out for the holidays, pandemic style. "I think a lot of people are staying home, and they figure, as long as I've gotta stay home, we might as well enjoy it."

The trees have been very popular as well. The cut-your-own has already sold out, the first weekend. "People would say, we're ready for Christmas. We want to make the season as long and memorable as possible. I think they're looking for a positive end of the year."

You can get Hoffbauer wreaths, trees, and gnomes at the Farmer's Market in Duluth at 1324 E 3rd, Monday-Friday from 11am-7pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am-6pm. You can also check out their stand at the West Duluth Super One Foods.
