From the Grand Marais Public Library - November 24, 2020

Grand Marais Public Library implemented a Computer by Appointment program that restores free indoor public access to technology including the Internet, computers, and document scanner. Photocopies and prints are available for a fee. No library card is required to take advantage of a 30-minute appointment, but public health practices must be followed. Calling ahead is strongly encouraged.

“This is a pandemic-conscientious program,” explained Library Director Amanda St. John. “Our goal is to ensure equitable access to essential technologies.”

With social distancing practices in place, use of the library’s technology is self-service. A limit of two people per family may attend a session, a youth must be accompanied by an adult, and everyone who enters the building must wear a mask completely covering mouth and nose during the entire visit. The library urges the community to stay home if anyone in the household is sick, and to take advantage of contactless options such as remote printing or outdoor Wi-Fi access.

Schedule a computer use appointment by calling the library at 218-387-1140, or inquire at the pickup window. Grand Marais Public Library increases knowledge, inspires creativity, removes barriers, and builds community across Cook County.
