Your Thanksgiving table might be a lot smaller this year. If you're making some adjustments to the size of the meal, we have some advice from an expert.

Bea Ojakangas has authored more than 30 cookbooks. She said to keep it simple, and make things ahead of time. Plus, there might be smaller portions. "If you've got a small turkey, or a turkey breast, you can put it in the oven and do other things in the same oven."

Don't put too much pressure on yourself to do it all, if you've always been part of a group effort. "If you have someone who always brings a wonderful bread, you don't have to bake it yourself. There's probably room in the oven for some biscuits," she said.

You could try something new, like a Cornish game hen. "I saw something called a turketta, which was a bacon-wrapped turkey breast," Ojakangas said.

Or you could spread out the meal in courses throughout the day, or even the weekend. "You could have mashed potatoes one day, and sweet potatoes the next."

Ojakangas said the most important thing, is to keep thinking about things you're grateful for.

If you just want to leave it to the pros, some places are offering to-go meals.

Super One said you can order from their deli departments. https://www.superonefoods.com/

The Pickwick is offering single and group orders. You just need to call by Wednesday next week and order. 218-623-7425

Valentini's in Chisholm is also making meals to go. You do need to order by Saturday. 218-254-2607
