Cook County Results: Hawkins & Sullivan win County Commissioner races, Powell and Svaleson advance in District 1 Special Election

According to the Cook County MN website, Paula Marie Powell received the most votes in the District One Special Election Primary with 43.8% of the 100% of the votes counted. Robert Svaleson finished second with 31.3% of the vote. Powell and Svaleson both advance in the District One Special Election vote.
In Commissioner District 2, Stacey Hawkins has bested Myron Bursheim with a 58.7% vs. 41.24% vote with 100% of the votes counted.
In Commissioner District 4, Anne Sullivan defeated Dean Berglund with a 53.9% vs. 46.1% vote.

In other Cook County races, David Grosshuesch, Joan G. Morrison, and John E Twiest won elections in their respective districts as Soil & Water Supervisors in largely uncontested races, winning over 99% of the votes with each district receiving a handful of write-in votes.
In other local races, Jay Arrowsmith Decoux won re-election as Grand Marais mayor with 52% of the vote. Craig Schulte and Michael Garry were elected to the Grand Marais City Council with 35% and 25% of the vote respectively.
