Deputy Jonathan Baumann was honored today with a Certificate of Commendation from the American Legion Post #413. Deputy Baumann received the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award for his dedication to public service in Cook County.

Having learned of the call for nominations for this year's Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award, I am writing today to endorse a highly suitable individual, Jon Baumann. In many ways exceeding the challenging requirements and expectations of law enforcement and public safety while providing a high level of service to Cook County,

Jon Baumann’s ambitions and intelligence complement precisely the mission statement of the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. “To serve and provide public safety with fairness and respect”. This defines Jon Baumann and the commitment he has made to this community.  Based upon his job performance, attention to detail, ability to adapt with technological advances, and talent for creating a positive work atmosphere, I believe Jon Baumann to be a deserving beneficiary of this award.

Cook County Sheriff Pat Eliasen.
