"Golf for the Good" was held at Superior National Golf Course in Lutsen on Friday and Saturday.  Dozens of golfers competed for prizes, bragging rights and the good feeling of helping the North Shore Health Care Foundation.  Proceeds from the event support local health care and emergency services, preventative programs, health advocacy and education in Cook County.  All to benefit everyone who lives, works and visits our beautiful Cook County communities.

“Golf for the Good at Superior National was a fantastic opportunity to engage golfers, both local and visitors, in supporting our health and emergency services here in Cook County,” said Valerie Eliasen, Executive Director - North Shore Health Care Foundation, “This was a super fun way to still host a golf event for the Foundation in light of COVID-19, and it was open to anyone at the course rather than just tournament players. We had a great mix of skilled and fun contests and raffles for players which made for a great experience and high value event. We have an incredible community of sponsors who stepped up to make this possible for us to fundraise which ultimately translates to the Foundation being able to do more in the community."

Eliasen continued, "We are so grateful for all of the generous sponsors, volunteers and all of our golfers! It was a great couple of days promoting the work of the North Shore Health Care Foundation and how we support our health care programs and emergency services here in Cook County. Sincere thanks to everyone who made this event such a success and especially to Superior National for their partnership in Golf for the Good.”

More than two dozen local businesses and individuals became either Presenting, Contest, Hole, Named or Refreshment sponsors – showcasing the Cook County business and community's commitment to giving back through this fun annual event.  

The North Shore Health Care Foundation works to address health care gaps and needs in Cook County. They believe in the possibilities of people, organizations, businesses, and governments working together to cre­ate healthy communities for all in Cook County. 

NSHCF believes health is not just the absence of illness, but that a healthy community is reflected in the health of individuals which is embodied in prevention and education regarding health; a com­munity that maintains health through its systems of food, housing, employment, clean water, clean air, healthy exercise and social norms; and access to quality, affordable health care for all.
