Although the Bayfield Apple Festival is canceled, people are encouraged to visit the apple orchards since they are open seven days a week and offer outdoor social distance activities.

"We're promoting a lot of outside activities. People can go on a walk in the orchard and pick apples. We are trying to keep people outside and let them still experience this region and the fall colors as usual," said Karra Prudhomme, who is a member of the Bayfield Foods Management Team.

The orchards are open seven days a week and will have special outdoor events planned next weekend for what would have been the apple fest weekend.

Bayfield Foods Cooperative, which is made up of 15 farmers in the Bayfield and Ashland area,  also made Applefest boxes that have a variety of apples and baked goods that people can order online or get at the several pick-up sites across the Northland.
