Outdoor dining has been the new norm this summer during COVID-19 to enjoy local restaurants safely. It has helped the dining industry a lot. With the weather cooling down, restaurants are making some changes to their indoor space.

"As you look around the Burrito Union we're now putting up the plexiglass between the booths," said Rod Raymond, the owner of Burrito Union.

Since restaurants are still operating 50 percent capacity, they are finding ways to make indoor dining safe by installing plexiglass. Restaurants like Grandma’s will be promoting take out and curbside orders again.

"We're hoping that people will kind of start doing the takeout and pick up business again which was very good for us this past spring," said Bronson.

"You're going to see more expansion of to go orders and you'll see more expansion of our curbside pickup, which means more focus on our kitchen on our culinary to make sure our foods are super tasty," said Raymond.

Restaurants also hope with the fall colors coming in and Bentleyville still happening, this will continue bringing in customers.

"We'll keep adapting that's the service industry and the restaurant industry in general on the whole is constantly always adapting to something new," said Cusack.

Restaurant staff say they will continue to extensively clean, disinfect, and require face masks to keep their establishments safe and will adjust to the new season and changes ahead.

"This upcoming season is gonna be a challenge we know that so we're going to follow what the health experts are telling us we can do," said Bronson.
