The feel of tall ships has arrived in the Twin Ports!

The "Pilgrim" sailed into Twin Ports waters on Monday. The ship is in the midst of a circumnavigation around the globe. It was build in Duluth's Russian sister city, Petrozavodsk, in 2017. This trip is a lifelong dream of the ship's captain, to sail the world.

And the journey is very special for some Duluthians.

The "Pilgrim" sailed into Twin Ports waters on Monday. The ship is in the midst of a circumnavigation around the globe. It was build in Duluth's Russian sister city, Petrozavodsk, in 2017.

"This is a really timely and lucky event for our organization, because right about now we were supposed to be in Petrozavodsk for a delegation, but we of course had to cancel it," said Ben Thwaits, Executive Director of Duluth Sister Cities International. "But right now lucky for us we have a piece of Petrozavodsk right here in Duluth, so it all works out in the end."

The "Pilgrim's" voyage began a few weeks ago in Russia, but has been in the works for several years as they built the ship.
