Strong winds continue over Lake Superior on Wednesday

Westerly winds continue over the Lake. A Small Craft Advisory is still in effect until 1pm for all nearshore waters. Winds will briefly taper off this evening before ramping up again Thursday morning.

Wind gusts in excess of 45 mph will be possible over the water of the Bayfield Peninsula and into the Apostle Islands. Waves could also reach 4-7 feet with an occasional 10 foot wave. A Gale Warning has been issued for Thursday morning at 5am to Thursday 1pm.
