Cash boxes stolen in Lake Superior Provincial Park

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the theft of cash from multiple locations throughout Lake Superior Provincial Park.
Eleven thefts have been reported since July 4 totaling about $3,000 Canadian. In some cases, entire cash boxes containing day use fees have been stolen.
Affected locations include Orphan Lake, Gargantua Road, Agawa Pictographs, Mijinemungshing Lake Road, and Sand River.
The OPP said there are no suspects. They asked anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.saultcrimestoppers.com where tipsters may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Lake Superior Provincial Park is between Wawa and Sault Ste. Marie along Highway 17 and the route of the Lake Superior Circle Tour. It includes numerous campgrounds and day use areas.
