Two young children were rescued after falling from a cliff at Gooseberry Falls State Park on Saturday afternoon, according to witnesses.

Numerous agencies responded to the scene. Witnesses told WDIO News that the two children were alive when they were taken from the area.

WDIO News has requested information from the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Lake County Ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, but none of the agencies had responded to provide information as of Saturday evening.

The popular park along Highway 61 features numerous waterfalls and cliffs along the Gooseberry River. Visitors frequently go off trail to explore the area, and many people could be seen playing in the falls a short time after the incident.
