Upcoming Anti-Racism Workshops from Higher Education

Cook County Higher Education is hosting a series of Anti-Racism workshops throughout the month of July, with a five month parenting group starting at the end of the month.

July 21 & 22: Compassion and Unconscious Bias
11:30am-1pm | FREE
In this two-part series we'll look at five types of bias each of us have and strategies we can use to reduce our bias and increase compassion in our communities. 
July 22 & 29: Becoming Anti-Racist
6:30pm-8pm | FREE 
If you are interested in making a commitment to antiracism, but you don't know where to start, this two-part webinar is a great start for your antiracist journey.   

July 27 (5 Months): Anti-Racism Parenting Group 
11:30am-1pm | $120 (Scholarships Available)   
What does it mean to be anti-racist and how should adults talk to kids about race and racism? In this antiracist parenting cohort we learn together as we strive to raise kids who think critically about racial inequity. From personal reflection, to unlearning history, to practicing what to say when your child makes a racially biased comment, together we’ll build our race conscious parenting toolkits.
