Dear Cook County Vikings,

We have begun planning for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. We have a team of school staff that are meeting weekly to review all of the current information and guidance changes from the state. We are focusing on what is best for our student’s education, mental health, and keeping them safe during this time.

There are 3 scenarios that the state has presented to us to start planning for,

1.     In-Person Learning for all students

2.     Hybrid model with strict social distancing and capacity limits

3.     Distance learning only

Our goals when working though the three scenarios is to develop a clear plan that is logical, safe, and best for educating our students. We are working in a “what if…” state to identify the different curveballs that could come our way. There is not a solid plan at this time that we can share with families and please know that we have a great staff and community that TOGETHER can create a solution that will work.

July 27, 2020 the state of Minnesota will be giving further recommendations that will support our planning for the beginning of school. After the announcement we will adjust our plan to meet the guidelines and the will be releasing our local plan to start the 2020-2021 school year at Cook County ISD 166.
