From the Cook County News Herald - June 5, 2020

While there are still some conservation officers out in the field, the majority of them have been assigned to assist local authorities in St. Paul and Minneapolis who are trying to quell the rioting and unrest in the wake of the killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer.

The announcement that there would be no CO Tales this week came from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Communications coordinator/ Division of Enforcement, Joe Albert.

When asked if this has occurred before, Albert’s replied, “It’s the first time since January of 2018, when I started at the DNR. Hard to know before that, but it certainly isn’t common.”
