Bayfront Blues Fest has been canceled due to COVID-19. It had been set for Aug. 14-16.

"It was a painstaking decision to make, but clearly the right thing to do. The responsible thing to do," an announcement on the Blues Fest website said.

It is scheduled to come back again Aug. 13-15, 2021. Tickets and VIP packages will be honored then.

Blues Fest said the pandemic has been "devastating" to the music, festival and event industry.

"Once these businesses cautiously start to reopen, they will be operating at an extremely scaled back capacity. Tours will become financially unfeasible. Bands are hesitant to travel, especially our older blues artists who are more susceptible and concerned for their wellbeing," the announcement read.

They estimate ticket costs will go up by at least 50% to sustain the event.

Ticket sales have been suspended.
