Notice to haulers: Partial lifting of Cook County road restrictions start Friday

May 08, 2020 04:22AM ● By Editor

From the Cook County MN Highway Department - May 7, 2020

Seasonal load restrictions on Cook County’s paved roads will end on Friday, May 8, 2020 in accordance with Minnesota’s guidance for the North frost zone. Legal weight trucks will be able to use these roads unless otherwise posted effective at 12:01 am tonight.  Additionally, restrictions on these gravel roads only will be lifted:

  • CSAH 1 to Sugarloaf Rd
  • CSAH 2 and CR 49
  • CR 27
  • CR 92

The Highway Department expects restrictions on most gravel roads to remain in effect next week as they continue to thaw. The condition of gravel roads will continue to be inspected daily, and weight restrictions on each road will be removed as soon as conditions allow.

Haulers are asked to be mindful of posted bridges, which have year-round varying load restrictions, on some Cook County Highways. Any questions can be directed to the Highway Department at 387-3014.
