Monday, Menards became the latest company requiring all customers to wear a mask or face covering while shopping in stores amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company said if you don't have a mask or face covering, they have some masks available for purchase.

Menards also asked both customers and employees to follow health guidelines to maintain a safe store environment, including:

  • Washing your hands frequently with soap and water or using an alcohol-based sanitizer.
  • Maintaining social distancing.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes.
  • Stay home if you feel unwell.

Several other companies are also now requiring employees, customers or both to wear masks or face coverings amid the pandemic.

Costco's requirement for customers went into effect Monday. Last week, Hy-Vee began requiring employees to wear masks. Additionally, many major airlines are also requiring passengers to wear masks.

Last week, the Minnesota Grocers Association also urged all shoppers to wear masks when at stores.
