Cook County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Incident Co-Commander Grace Grinager issued a statement at 4:15 p.m. encouraging local residents to remain calm and stay home over the Easter holiday.

"We understand that emotions are running high with the extension of Governor Walz's Stay at Home order and the upcoming holiday weekend," Grinager said. "We encourage residents to stay focused and calm and to continue to stay at home whenever possible. That includes Easter services."

Grinager acknowledged that one business did announce this afternoon that it will be closing for three days out of concern for staff members.

"Again, we have no confirmed cases in Cook County," Grinager said. "Tests will continue to be administered over the weekend, and we will notify the public if any COVID-19 cases are confirmed here.  Our local employers have done an amazing job in staying open and providing services to our community, and we are grateful for their efforts. We are all in this together."
