From Cook County Law Enforcement - March 23, 2020

A structure fire was reported at 12:42 pm on March 21, 2020 on the East Bearskin Road. Responding units arrived to find the structure had been consumed by the fire. The Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department stayed on the scene for “mop-up” and to ensure that the fire was not going to spread. Other responding agencies included: Cook County Sheriff’s Office, USFS Law Enforcement, and North Shore Health Ambulance.   

“it is always devastating to lose a building to fire and our sympathy is with the owner”, said Sheriff Pat Eliasen. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time and investigators will continue to examine the evidence.
