Wet and icy weather ahead for the rest of the week

A slow moving cold front and area of low pressure will bring light rain to the Northland Thursday into Thursday night with the rain switching to freezing rain, sleet, and snow from west to east later Thursday night into Friday.

Most of eastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin will remain all rain Thursday night switching to a wintry mix Friday into Friday evening. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for western portions of the Northland Thursday night into Friday afternoon. In addition to the snow and ice accumulation, additional rainfall of a half to one inch will occur and may lead to additional river flooding.
