What do Sasquatch and the Vikings have in common?  They're both moving to new homes on the Twin Ports radio dial.

Townsquare Media announced Thursday that it will move its "Sasquatch 106.5" Classic Rock format to 92.1 FM in February.  92.1 is owned by a different company, Twin Ports Radio, and Townsquare says it has reached an agreement to begin programming the station as it works on a deal to purchase it outright.

"With its fun, irreverent attitude, Sasquatch 106.5 has quickly earned a loyal following. Moving it to 92.1 FM will provide the opportunity for the station to reach even more Northland listeners who love real classic rock," said Townsquare Media Duluth Operations Manager, David Drew, in a news release.

The current "92.1 The Fan" lineup will move to Sasquatch's current home on 106.5 and WEBC 560 AM, returning "The Fan" to its original Northland home.

Meanwhile, Townsquare has also secured the rights to the Vikings and plans to carry the games on both Sasquatch and The Fan starting this fall.

"All of these programming moves greatly improve the experience for our local listeners and the marketing solutions we can provide for our local advertising partners, enhancing our position as a premiere local media company in the Northland. We are thrilled to bring The Fan back home to WEBC along with the Minnesota Vikings, while providing our rabid Sasquatch audience extended reach on 92.1 FM," said Mary Niemeyer, Townsquare Media Duluth Market President and Chief Revenue Officer.

Sasquatch's chief rival, Midwest Communications' KQDS-FM, had carried the Vikings for the past several seasons.
