Role at school: 5th Grade Teacher

What do you like best about living in Cook County?  

I love the strong sense of community here.  It seems that no matter where I am, I can always get a smile and friendly conversation.  The access to fantastic hiking trails and kayaking has also been a great experience.

What facts about you may surprise people? 

My first teaching job was actually in Taichung, Taiwan where I taught 3rd grade at an international school. I have also spent time living in London, England. Traveling to new communities and learning about other cultures is a passion of mine, and I try to seize every travel opportunity that I can.

Best part of your workday?

It is so fun creating hands-on lessons to help my students engage in their learning.  I love observing their love of learning, which continues to surprise me with its depth.
