From the Minnesota Department of Transportation - November 1, 2019

Motorists will encounter lane closures in the tunnels along Highway 61 beginning Wednesday, Nov. 6. 

Crews will be performing an inspection of existing tunnel lighting supports over the centerline in the Silver Creek Cliff and Lafayette Bluff tunnels. Lane closures using temporary signals will be required for this work. Lane closures will begin in the Lafayette Bluff tunnel, and the Silver Cliff tunnel lane closure will begin after the Lafayette Bluff inspection is complete. 

The tunnel work is expected to be completed by mid-December.
