On Thursday, July 11, Boreal Community Media technology interns traveled to the west end of Cook County to bring free technology services a little closer to home for the residents residing on the west end.  This is a new service brought to the community by a partnership with Arrowhead Electric Cooperative, Boreal Community Media, and Cook County Schools.

Community members were able to walk in with their devices and questions and receive free technical support from David Blackburn and Tristan Surbaugh from 12:00 to 2:00.   A demonstration of streaming television using a Roku device was also held, showing customers a way to reduce their cable television bill.  The next event will be held on Thursday, August 1st from 12:00 to 2:00 in the same location.

The student technology internship program was made possible by a generous grant from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation.  To read more about this grant, follow this link:

A big thanks to Arrowhead Electric Cooperative for the use of their Board room for this event!
