WDIO-TV Video: Hermantown Man Begins 310-Mile Journey on Superior Hiking Trail

Michael Koppy began his 310-mile journey Saturday morning. The 68-year-old began at 5:25 a.m. at the Otter Lake Road Trailhead, near the Canadian border in Cook County.
He is traveling the entire trail to raise awareness and generate support for the Superior Hiking Trail Association. Koppy says he wants to make sure the future generation can also benefit from the trail that runs of Minnesota's North Shore.
Koppy is also holding an online fundraiser with a goal of $10,000. He is matching all donations up to$5,000.
