CR 45 Right-of-Way Acquisition to Begin

May 21, 2019 06:50PM ● By Editor

Media Release from the Cook County Highway Department - May 21, 2019

Cook County continues to move forward with the planned Pike Lake Road (CR 45) reconstruction project. In the coming weeks, representatives with the consulting firm WSB will contact property owners to arrange on-site meetings with each property owner.  The Highway Department contracted with WSB to facilitate right-of-way acquisition services and landowner communications for this project, and WSB's meetings with property owners is the first step of this process. Cook County is committed to addressing questions that arise throughout the acquisition process, and the Highway Department will be working closely with WSB as either party hears from local stakeholders. Tenants along Pike Lake Road are advised to coordinate your questions through your respective landlords.

Residents may notice temporary stakes placed in yards along Pike Lake Road. The purpose of these is for property owners better understand the County's right-of-way needs as part of WSB's coming meetings.

Acquiring the right-of-way necessary to improve the ditches and hills along this road is expected to take six to twelve months. Construction is currently planned to begin in 2020 or 2021. Another public information meeting is being planned this summer, watch for details soon.

Questions regarding this project may also be directed to the Cook County Highway Department at 387-3014.
