First Half of Cook County Real Estate Taxes Due May 15

The first half of Cook County real estate taxes are due Wednesday, May 15. Taxes may be paid by cash, check, credit card, debit card or e-check. Mailed checks are considered paid by the postmark on your envelope. Your tax payment stub is needed to properly apply the payment to the correct parcel - please include it with your payment.
Cook County accepts Credit or Debit card payments for real estate taxes. Credit card companies charge fees for this service. The County cannot legally absorb those charges. If you pay using this method, you will see two charges, one for your property taxes and another one for your credit/debit card fees. Credit Card Fee 2.5%/Debit Card Fee 1.5%. The fees will appear on your statement from Value Payment Systems. The e-check option is only available when paying property taxes on-line. An E-Check Fee of $1.00 per transaction applies.
