Media Release from Cook County - March 19, 2019

Following are highlights and key priorities covered at the Tuesday, March 19 Committee of the Whole Meeting:

Agenda

MIS

Rena Rogers, MIS Director, brought the following items to the Board for discussion:

  • MIS presented the Mobile Device Policy to the Board for review. The policy was reviewed and discussed with minor changes to the wording suggested. Proposed changes to the policy include a roll out of mobile device protection for all County mobile devices and personal devices used for County business. MIS is currently utilizing the MAAS 360 app on twenty-five mobile devices. This app is an added measure of security and allows MIS to wipe out the app and phone if it has been compromised.  MIS currently has $3,000 budgeted for twenty-five licenses and it is anticipated that the cost to increase to fifty licenses would be an additional $3,000 for a total budget of $6,000. The Board discussed the possible implications of the proposed changes. MIS will make the minor wording changes as discussed and will bring to the Board with a plan of implementation for the Board to review and vote on during a Regular Board of Commissions Meeting.

Administration

Jeff Cadwell, County Administrator, brought the following items to the Board for review:

  • Minutes from the January 15 and February 19 Personnel Committee and the February 27 Public Safety and Transportation Committee were included as correspondence.
