The Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts in Tofte, Minn., has been put on the market.

Bluefin Bay has been in operation on Lake Superior's North Shore since 1984. It accommodates 634 guests, and is a popular destination for weddings and honeymoons.

Minneapolis-based SVN Northco Real Estate Services has the listing. The listing price for the resort is not publicly available; the realtor is asking potential buyers to sign a confidentiality agreement.

The Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts also includes Surfside and Temperance Landing, two other projects that were built in the mid-2000s, as well as restaurants and a spa. All of these would be included in the sale.

The resorts are about a four-hour's drive north of the Twin Cities and an hour and a half from Duluth.

Dennis Rysdahl is the current owner of Bluefin Bay. Rysdahl spoke last year with the Star Tribune about Bluefin Bay's struggles to keep the resort fully staffed. Rysdahl was not immediately available for comment.

Another popular North Shore destination, Lutsen Resort, sold last year; Finance & Commerce reported the deal's value at $3.35 million, though that figure covered only the property, not the resort business itself.
