Boreal Community Media thanks intern David Blackburn

Last spring, Boreal Community Media was the recipient of a generous grant from the Lloyd K Johnson Foundation.  The purpose of the grant was to give our community youth the opportunity to have hands-on technical experience working on a data migration project for Boreal.  We were blessed to have a young (yet wise beyond his years) man named David Blackburn apply for this internship.

David began his technical internship working beside Lisa Bauer in the tech office at Cook County Schools during his senior year in high school.  In May, he started working for Boreal on the email migration project and was quickly promoted to a Project Manager, due to not only his technical abilities, but his incredible customer service skills.  David also participated in the monthly visits to Cook County Senior Center and the evening community tech events, providing free technical support to members of our community.

David is leaving Cook County to begin studying Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  We wish to thank him for his dedication and hard work.  His shoes will be hard to fill, but he hopes to return to the Boreal office this summer when he returns home for break.  We will have his office chair waiting for him.

We wish you the best in your journey, David. We know that you will succeed in all that you do in life! Thank you for your service to Boreal Community Media and Cook County residents!
