Sam Savoie is the English teacher at Cook County Schools.  She started her new journey in Cook County this year and fills the hallways with smiles with her bright and sunny personality.  Although she is new to Cook County Schools, her family has been coming to the area for vacations for years.

Sam stated that “seeing the students and planning more ways for them to be excited about learning” is her favorite part of her job.  She was wearing two busy hats at the beginning of the year with her dual role as teacher and school counselor. 

It’s always fun to learn something new about teachers.  Sam shared that she went to Las Vegas for the first time just to see a Brittney Spears concert! 

According to Sam, the best advice she has ever received came from an education professor – “just be me”.  This advice steered Sam in the direction of being an authentic person and educator.  We are very glad that she listened to that advice!
