Two Michigan DNR officers were honored for saving a woman’s life in an incredible rescue in Baraga County earlier this year.

Back in May, Conservation Officers David Miller and Kyle McQueer were called to a 70-foot cliff overlooking Lake Superior because a woman was stuck on it.

The woman, who suffered from Huntington’s disease, was part way down the face of the cliff, holding on to tree roots to keep herself from falling.

Working together, the officers tied a tow strap to a tree and were able to use it to pull her to safety.

Miller and McQueer were given the Department of Natural Resources Lifesaving Award at the Michigan DNR commission meeting in Lansing Wednesday.
