From the Cook County News Herald - October 29, 2018

On October 30 there will be a “Sharing the care for elders and caregivers” presentation at the Grand Portage Lodge & Casino in the Kitchi Ki Gi Tong Room.

Registration will take place at 8 a.m. with opening remarks by the Minnesota Indian Area Agency on Aging and Grand Portage Elderly Nutrition program at 8:30 a.m. 

Speakers include Fran King, a caregiver outreach specialist with the Minnesota Indian Area Agency on Aging; Kristin Parendo, staff attorney for Northeast Legal Aid Services; Tina Olson, executive director, Mending the Sacred Hoop, will speak about “The impact of elder abuse on a community and personal level: What does it look like?”

Care Partners of Cook County will make a presentation at the lunch. 

At 1:15 p.m. there will be an evaluation, drawings and icebreakers winners with closing remarks to follow.

The event is being sponsored by the Minnesota Indian Area Agency on Aging with support from the Grand Portage Elderly Nutrition Program.
