BARRON, Wis. - Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says his department has investigated more than 800 tips related to the disappearance of 13-year-old Jayme Closs.

Saturday marked day six of the search for Closs. Deputies responded to a 911 call early Monday and found her parents dead in their home in Barron. They were identified as James and Denise Closs.

Sheriff Fitzgerald said Saturday that investigators have received more than 1,000 tips and have investigated more than 800 of them.

"We are using every resource available, and have conducted hundreds of interviews, multiple searches, and are using the technical and forensic expertise of our state and federal resources to locate the person or persons who committed this offense and to locate Jayme," he wrote in a press release.

On Wednesday, Fitzgerald said their deaths have been classified as a homicide. He said both were shot to death.

Jayme Closs has been ruled out a suspect and investigators believe she's in danger.

Thursday, more than 100 volunteers searched for her in fields, ditches and woods in Barron.

The Barron County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information, or anyone who has spent time with the Closs family recently, to contact the tip line at 1-855-744-3879.
