High winds Wednesday night causes power outages, downed trees and property damage in Cook County.

High winds overnight causes power outages, downed trees and property damage.  Check back later to Boreal Community Media for more updates from Cook County.  

According to the National Weather Service, a wind gust reached 56 miles per hour at Grand Marais Harbor at 11:13pm Wednesday night.  As of early Thursday morning, over 1,000 Arrowhead Electric customers were without power.

Attached are some photos of storm damage from around Grand Marais where the Recreational Park was hit hard.
