Valerie Marasco addresses Emergency Management in Cook County

Valerie Marasco, Director of Cook County's Office of Emergency Management and Public Information gave an interesting and informative overview of emergency preparedness on June 28th at 7:00 p.m.
Valerie Marasco, Director of Cook County's Office of Emergency Management and Public Information gave an interesting and informative overview of emergency preparedness on June 28th at 7:00 p.m.
She discussed the four phases of emergency management, which include:
- Prevention/Mitigation
- Preparedness
- Response
- Recovery
Valerie also discussed Code Red, which is a high-speed mass notification system, which is intended to keep citizens informed and safe in a true emergency. Emergency go-kits and tips for flood, fire and severe weather were also covered during this lecture.
