U.S. Forest Services seeks public input on large Vegetation Management Project
Jun 15, 2018 04:04PM ● By EditorMedia release from the U.S. Forest Serice - - June 15, 2018
The Gunflint Ranger Station will be hosting an open forum to solicit feedback on its upcoming large Vegetation Management project, Kimball.
The intent of this meeting is to solicit information on areas of importance to users of the land, to help us craft our upcoming proposed action within the Kimball project boundary. Feedback regarding our treatments is important to our decision-making. We will also have information on our needs for the project area including: reducing hazard fuels, treatments to encourage younger age classes of vegetation, and creating habit for wildlife.
Additionally, if you have more generic questions about the Forest Service’s role in land management, please come and ask us. Join us on June 28th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Gunflint Ranger Station Conference Room. If you are unable to attend, we will be hosting more sessions near the end of summer. We look forward to seeing you there.
