Fire Sunday Night on North Shore in Hovland Under Investigation

November 5, 2017 – The Hovland and Colvill Fire Departments, along with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and Cook County Ambulance, responded to a structure fire at 5774 Highway 61 in Hovland overnight.
The call, reported by a neighbor, came in at 2:48 am, Sunday, Nov. 5, reporting the lakeside residence was engulfed in flames. The extensive blaze destroyed the home.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire; no injuries were reported. The property owner is believed to be out of town. The Minnesota State Fire Marshal is completing an investigation.
