The wild rice crop this year is expected to be outstanding throughout most of Minnesota.

Rod Ustipak, Ducks Unlimited’s and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources wild rice lake management coordinator, said barring a series of heavy thunderstorms in August, chances are good for an excellent rice production year across the state.

WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Ustipak about the 2017 wild rice harvest.
