About Us

Life in Christ Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. We began as a mission of the Minnesota North District, in 2000. We were established as a congregation in April, 2003, and in January, 2007 we installed Pastor Dennis Schutte as our first full-time pastor.

Because we meet in the Community Center, we need to set up and take down our worship facility each week. Fortunately, we have lots of good helpers!

Life in Christ has remained a small congregation, with our weekly attendance averaging about 24 people per week. Because this is a tourist destination, our attendance varies quite a bit between summer (tourist season) and winter!

Because we have remained small, we continue to struggle to meet our financial commitments. We appreciate both your prayers for our success in bringing the Word of God to Cook County, and your gifts.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. It does not just contain the Word of God, it is the Word of God. The Bible is the only source of information about our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the salvation God has worked for us through His Son, Jesus. We also believe that the Lutheran Confessions are an accurate reflection of the doctrine contained in the Bible. For more information on what we believe, click here.
