Jon Ofjord is one in a group of three people pursuing a Medical Lab Technician degree in Cook County through Hibbing Community College.
In 2007, eight Wes Hedstrom Scholarships were awarded, totaling $1,850. One of the awards went to Jon Ofjord, who is working toward his Medical Lab Technician degree via Hibbing Community College’s online program. Jon says, “As a non-traditional student it is difficult to get financial, and as an older person, I do not need to incur of a lot of long term debt. The Wes Hedstrom Scholarship helps remove some of the financial pressure of a college education. I greatly appreciate the educational opportunity this scholarship gives me.” He goes on to say, "CCHE has enable me to do something that I wanted to do for years, but was unable to do from here.” Next time you see Jon, give hime some encouragement!
