You are invited to our Open House Celebration!
Cook County Higher Education (CCHE) purchased the former Baptist Church and renovated it to create a
North Shore Campus that provides a physical space where students, high school age to senior citizens, can study together,
work together, share, and encourage each other. The North Shore Campus is an affordable alternative to the expense of a college
campus, with flexible programming that directly addresses the economic needs of our community. This is an excellent location for
CCHE, with its close proximity to the library, art colony, court house, and town center.
Renovation was accomplished thanks to a $125,000 grant from the Blandin Foundation, $30,000 from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation, $20,000 from Iron Range Resources,
and over $6,700 in local constributions. The project could not have been completed without the assistance of the Economic
Development Authority, who helped CCHE make the purchase arrangements. Local Architect Russell Zenk produced the plans, and contractor Glenn Peterson carried
them out, resulting in a dynamic North Shore Campus that will serve the region for years to come.
