The 9th Annual Radio Waves Festival
WTIP is pleased to announce the lineup for the ninth annual Radio Waves Music Festival, September 9 to 11. The family-friendly festival, held at Sweetheart’s Bluff in the Grand Marais Recreation Area and Campground, will present three days of live music - in a tented outdoor venue - from a diverse mix of local and regional artists and bands.
Festivalgoers can look forward to several new bands at this year’s event, plus many returning favorites including: Dusty Heart, the Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers, Bowers & Gillman, Sam Miltich and the Clearwater Hot Club, and Rich Mattson and the Northstars.

Friday
Music starts Friday at 4 p.m., with the following acts set to perform throughout the evening:

Sunday
An hour of gospel music starting at 10 a.m., with Gordon Thorne and friends, kicks off Sunday’s schedule. Other musicians performing throughout the day include:

The last act is set to take the stage on Sunday at 6 p.m.
The Radio Waves Music Festival is a favorite for visitors, area residents and performing musicians. It’s held rain or shine - with two stages housed under a large tent - and includes on-site food, children’s activities and on-site camping. Admission – available at the gate - is $10 per day or $20 for the weekend, and free to children 12 and under.
Radio Waves is made possible in part with funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, and is supported by a grant from the Grand Marais Area Tourism Association. Proceeds from the event will help support WTIP’s capital projects.
