Rivers of Lake Superior’s North Shore: An Ojibwe Perspective

Over two dozen scenic rivers descend the North Shore’s rugged landscape into Lake Superior. These rivers lie within the traditional historical territory of two modern tribal nations: the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the Fort William First Nation.

Join Erik Redix, Grand Portage Ojibwe Language Coodinator, for Rivers of Lake Superior’s North Shore: An Ojibwe Perspective. This presentation will explore the Ojibwe language names for these iconic waterways and discuss how this reveals a much richer understanding of the area.
